World No.3 Amina Orfi and World No.2 Nour ElSherbini, after a dramatic El Gouna International 2026, have all but secured their places in the season-ending PSA Squash Tour Finals after recording semifinal and runner up finishes to move themselves clear of the chasing pack in the PSA Squash Tour Finals leaderboard.

ElSherbini, the 2022 Tour Finals champion, lost out to Hania El Hammamy in the final last week in El Gouna, that result still wasn’t enough to overtake Amina Orfi, who also lost out to El Hammamy but in the semifinals. Because the World Champion and British Open champion will gain automatic entry into the Tour Finals, it isn’t confirmed yet that the pair will be there but upon Orfi featuring at the Grasshopper Cup later this month and ElSherbini getting through at least one round at the PSA World Championships, the pair will be confirmed to have qualified.

The women’s top eight hasn’t changed but Georgina Kennedy has moved to within touching distance of No.8 Tinne Gilis.

Elias on a roll

The men’s standings have seen Peru’s Diego Elias rocket up the leaderboard to No.3 after he claimed his first major event title since last year’s British Open by winning his first El Gouna International title. Elias downed the already qualified Mostafa Asal in the semi-finals before beating 18-year-old Mohamad Zakaria in the final. Zakaria in fact, is the other notable riser in the men’s standings as he rises to No.6 in the leaderboard after becoming the third youngest men’s major finalist of all time and youngest men’s major finalist for 20 years.

British duo Joel Makin and Marwan Elshorbagy are separated by less than 400 points in eigth and ninth positions with both desperate to reach the top eight to book their places in Paris.

For the top players in the standings, only the Hamburg Open, Grasshopper Cup, PSA World Championships and British Open remain for players to earn points to go towards their Tour Finals position.

This year’s PSA Squash Tour Finals will see a different set-up as the draw will now see the eight qualified players play in a knockout format, with the No.1 qualifier playing the No.8, No.2 playing No.7 etc.

To qualify for the PSA Squash Tour Finals, players must win a prestigious Diamond title, whilst the World Champions will also qualify automatically. Any remaining places are allocated to the players who fill out the top eight spots in the Road to Tour Finals standings, with points on offer at all PSA World Events during the season.
