To promote fitness, healthy living, and greater public participation in sports activities, Sports Authority of Telangana (SATS) will organize the ‘Fit India – Sundays on Cycle’ programme at Gachibowli Stadium on June 7, said SATS chairman Shivasena Reddy.
The event poster was unveiled by Shivasena Reddy at his office in LB Stadium on Tuesday. Speaking on the occasion, he emphasized the need to popularize cycling among people and encouraged citizens to adopt cycling at least once a week as part of their daily routine.
He said cycling not only contributes significantly to physical well-being but also serves as an environmentally sustainable mode of transport. It plays a vital role in reducing pollution, conserving fuel, and promoting a greener lifestyle, he added.

Organized in connection with World Bicycle Day, the programme will be attended by Telangana governor Shiv Prathap Shukla as the chief guest. The initiative is being conducted under the national fitness campaign slogan, “Fitness Ki Dose, Aadha Ghanta Roz” (A daily dose of fitness – half an hour every day).

According to Shivasena Reddy, the programme aims to create awareness about fitness, health, and active living among students, youth, employees, representatives of voluntary organizations, and the general public. He noted that large-scale participation from diverse sections of society would also help strengthen social connections and community engagement.
SATS managing director Dr Soni Bala Devi said the cycling rally will commence from the main entrance of Gachibowli Stadium and proceed through IIIT Junction, Gachibowli Flyover, Pista House Junction, BITS, Cable Bridge, Madhapur, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Centre Road, and Biodiversity Road before returning to the stadium.
Officials expect around 2,000 cyclists to participate in the event. All participants will be presented with commemorative medals and certificates by the Telangana Sports Authority.
SATS officials appealed to the public, youth, and sports enthusiasts to participate in large numbers and make the programme a grand success.
Deputy directors Anita, Sujatha, Ravinder, Raviteja, Srinivas, engineer Srinivas Ashok and Gachibowli stadium administrator Kannam Madhu and other officials were present during the poster launch.
