Alankrith Rapole and Neeraj Bist hit unbeaten centuries to help Union Bank of India (UBI) pull off a seven-wicket win over Deccan Chronicle on the final day of their sixth-round match in the HCA’s A Division (2-day) League Championship in Hyderabad on Tuesday.
Chasing Deccan Chronicle’s modest 269, UBI were off to a not so happy start as they lost openers Ronald Rodrigues (6) and Naveen Reddy (13) with just 39 on the board.

However, Wafi Kachchhi and Alankrith Rapole combined well to revive the innings. But Wafi had to retire hurt after making 40 and new man Nithin Nayak (6) did not last long.
UBI were reduced to 120 for three and there was jitters in the camp. However, Alankrith and Neeraj Bist steadied their nerves with an unbroken partnership.
The duo mixed caution with aggression as they thwarted the Deccan Chronicle attack and put their side on the path of victory.
They added 176 off 170 balls for the unbroken fourth wicket with Neeraj getting his century off 84 balls and Alankrith contributing 66 off 86 balls to the partnership.
UBI reached 296 for three in 55.5 overs with Alankrith making 108 off 140 balls with 13 fours and two sixes, while Neeraj’s 100 contained 12 fours and three sixes. This was UBI’s first win of the season in four matches.

Md Asif Mansoori bowled Deccan Wanderers to a 127-run win over Cambridge XI. Chasing 352 for victory, Cambridge XI were bowled out for 224 with Mansoori bagging five for 25.
Aditya Javvaji struck a fine century but his effort went in vain as Gemini Friends crashed to a 99-run loss to MP Colts.

Chasing MP Colts huge 397 for nine declared, Gemini Friends put up a fight mainly through Aditya, who scored 100 off 82 balls with five fours and nine sixes. However, he lacked support from the other end as Gemini Friends folded up for 299. Mickil Jaiswal took four for 78.
Ajay Dev Goud bowled Imperial to a 146-run win over Central Excise. After putting up a mammoth 459 on the board, Imperial restricted Central Excise to 313 with Ajay Dev Goud taking five for 55.
Jai Hanuman managed to pull off a narrow 14-run over a fighting SCRSA in a low-scoring game. Chasing 193 for victory, SCRSA fought valiantly but could reach 178 only.

R Dayanand scored a 184-run win over Combined District-2. After making 350, R Dayanand bowled out Combined District-2 for 166.
EMCC defeated Combined District-1 by five wickets to take home full points from the game.
