Tanay Thyagarajann set up Sporting XI’s seven-wicket win over Hyderabad Bottling with a day to spare in the sixth round of the HCA’s A Division (2-day) League Championship in Hyderabad on Monday.
Thyagarajann, who has been in tremendous form, once again spun Sporting XI to a comprehensive win with a five-wicket haul.

Batting first, Hyderabad Bottling were off to a bright start with openers Pranav Suryadevara (15) and Prajwal Koudipally adding 35 for the opening pair. After Pranav’s departure, Prajwal and Ruthik Yadav took charge of the proceedings. They added 95 for the second wicket before Ruthik departed for 53.

Thereafter, Hyderabad Bottling crumbled like a pack of cards. They lost wickets at regular interval as Thyagarajann and Anvith Reddy ran through the side. None of the other batters reached double figures with Prajwal waging a lone battle with a fighting 105 off 150 balls with 13 fours and three sixes.
He was the ninth wicket to fall to A Varun Goud as Bottling folded up for 194 in 52.5 overs. Thyagarajann finished with figures of five for 48, while Anvith bagged three for 33.
In reply, lost two early wickets but Anvith Reddy (53 not out) and A Varun Goud (86) struck half-centuries to help Sporting XI reach 195 for three in just 29.1 overs. The duo shared a 138-run partnership for the third wicket.

Rahul Radhesh continued with his rich vein of form as he struck a century. Rahul made 167 off 207 balls with eight fours and nine sixes as MP Colts declared their innings closed at 397 for nine.
Al Qureshi, Abdur Rahman among wickets
Abdul Ela Al Qureshi bagged five for 88 for Gemini Friends, who were 20 for no loss at stumps.
S Dheeraj hammered a 201-ball 161 with 19 fours and four sixes to help Deccan Wanderers reach 351 against Cambridge XI, who were 14 for no loss at stumps.
Jai Ram Kashyap scored 114 off 233 balls with eight fours and four sixes as Budding Star reached 266 against Balaaji, who were struggling at 14 for two at stumps on the first day.
Abhirath’s double ton in vain as Jai Hanuman lose by 2 runs to Deccan Chronicle; EMCC win
S Loknath Naik struck a quickfire 129-ball 130 with nine fours and nine sixes as Imperial posted an imposing 459 against Central Excise.
Murugan Abhishek scored 101 off 131 balls to save Deccan Chronicle’s blushes. Deccan Chronicle were bowled out for 269 against Union Bank of India (UBI), who were six without loss.

S Abdur Rahman bagged six for 52 to restrict R Dayanand to 350. Combined District-2 were 17 for two at stumps.
