Visakhapatnam and NTR districts delivered an outstanding performance to finish in the top two positions at the 11th Andhra Pradesh Sub-Junior & Junior Inter District Aquatic Championships 2026 at the Aqua Sports Complex in Visakhapatnam on Sunday.
Visakhapatnam swimmers emerged overall winners with 343 points and bagged 20 gold 28 silver and 21 bronze medals. NTR district were overall runners-up with 231 points. They claimed 18 gold, 15 silver and 10 bronze medals. In third place was Krishna district with 156 points. Krishna swimmers won 10 gold, 13 silver and 7 bronze medals.
NTR district’s success was highlighted by two Individual championship titles. Lipi Vadlamudi emerged as the Individual Champion in the Under-16 girls’ category, while M Ram Manikanta was crowned the Individual Champion in the Under-14 boys’ category following exceptional performances throughout the championship.
NTR swimmers congratulated
Congratulating the swimmers on their remarkable achievements, Dr Kongara Ravikanth, president of the NTR District Swimming Association (NTRDSA), Dr M Obul Reddy, president of the Andhra Pradesh Amateur Aquatic Association (APAAA), Kodali Ramesh, secretary of NTRDSA, DND Siva Kumar, treasurer, and the Executive Committee members applauded the dedication, discipline, and hard work of the swimmers, coaches, and parents.
They commended the entire NTR district contingent for securing the overall runners-up title and expressed confidence that the district’s swimmers would continue to excel at the state and national levels, bringing greater laurels to NTR district in the years to come.
Individual champions:
1A boys: Sugali Karthikeya (Ananthapuramu) 35 points (5 gold).
1A girls: Sai Mahalakshmi Sri Lasya Krovvidi (Kakinada) 35 oints (5 gold).
1B boys: Ch Gowtham (Guntur 35 oints (5 gold) and L Karthikeya Devaroyal (YSR Kadapa) 35 points (5 gold).
1B girls: Avighna Chinthala (Bapatla) 35 points (5 gold) and Lipi Vadlamudi (NTR) 35 points (5 gold).
II boys: M Ram Manikanta (NTR) 35 points (5 gold).
II girls: Lasya Sri Kagitha (Bapatla) 35 points (5 gold).
III boys: Cherith Adithya Vadlamudi (Krishna) 35 points (5 gold).
III girls: Manvitha Sai Sarikonda (Visakhapatnam) 33 points (4 gold).
