Tanmay Agarwal and M Pratyush Kumar hammered centuries to help Deccan Chronicle amass a huge total against Jai Hanuman in the fifth round of the HCA’s A Division (2-day) League championship in Hyderabad on Thursday.
Deccan Chronicle, who had suffered a humiliating 152-run loss to Charminar in the fourth round, came back strongly against table-toppers Jai Hanuman.
Deccan Chronicle had missed the services of southpaw Tanmay Agarwal in the previous game. On Thursday, Deccan Chronicle had another poor start as they lost opener Ashesh Singh (8) with 15 on the board. However, Tanmay Agarwal joined M Pratyush Kumar and the duo made merry at the cost of the Jai Hanuman bowlers.

Tanmay was at his attacking best as he plundered runs at will, while Pratyush was content to let his senior partner do the bulk of the scoring.
They added a whopping 263 for the second wicket before Pratyush fell to Abhirath Reddy M. Pratyush made 125 off 152 balls with 16 hits to the fence and one over it.
Tanmay too fell to Abhirath Reddy M but not before making a swashbuckling 153 off 122 balls with 15 fours and six sixes. Murugan Abhishek made 62 and Yashveer Goud scored 43, while Nakka Ritesh was unbeaten on 39 as Deccan Chronicle ran up a massive 508 in 89.2 overs.

Wafi Kachchhi scored a 129-ball 105 for Union Bank of India against EMCC
Hyderabad Bottling needed just one day complete their match against AOC as they won by six wickets.
Batting first, AOC could reach a modest 203 despite Irfan Khan’s 63. In reply, Bottling made 207 for six with Pranav Suryadevara scoring 83.
Left-arm spinner Aniketh Reddy put Evergreen on top against Balaaji. Aniketh bagged four for 24 as Balaaji were dismissed for a modest 218 even though Paras Raj hit a handsome 89. In reply, Evergreen were 35 for one in 10 overs.
Boosted by their win in the previous round, Union Bank of India put up a splendid display against EMCC with Wafi Kachchhi leading the way.
Wafi scored a 129-ball 105 with 12 fours and a six, while Nithin Nayak made 74 to help Union Bank reach a competitive 315. In reply, EMCC were struggling at two for two.
