The Sports Authority of Telangana (SATG) on Tuesday organized an orientation programme on the National Sports Governance Act–2025 with the objective of creating awareness among various stakeholders in the sports sector regarding the key provisions, objectives, and implementation framework of the new legislation.
The programme was aimed at sensitizing sports administrators, government officials, representatives of sports associations, coaches, and other stakeholders about the significant reforms introduced under the Act and their implications for sports governance in the country.
Parth Goswami, eminent legal expert and member of the World Athletics Disciplinary and Appeals Panel, attended the programme as the keynote speaker. In his address, he elaborated on how the National Sports Governance Act–2025 would strengthen transparency, accountability, and sustainable governance within sports institutions.

Deliberations during the programme focused on the governance reforms introduced through the National Sports Governance Act–2025, including measures relating to transparency, accountability, athlete welfare, and adoption of best governance practices. The event witnessed active participation from sports association representatives, administrators, coaches, and government officials.
The Sports Authority of Telangana stated that the programme was organized to enable stakeholders to gain a comprehensive understanding of the new legislation, which is intended to strengthen sports governance across the country.
The initiative reflects the government of Telangana’s commitment to promoting good governance, professional standards, and excellence in sports administration while building a robust athlete-centric sports ecosystem.

The programme was conducted under the guidance of K Shivasena Reddy, chairman, Sports Authority of Telangana, and under the leadership of Dr A Sonibala Devi, vice chairman & managing director, Sports Authority of Telangana.
Among the distinguished attendees were A P Jitender Reddy, sports advisor to the government of Telangana, and Dr S Venugopalachary, former Union Minister, along with several prominent representatives from the sports ecosystem.
Officials of the Sports Authority of Telangana, representatives of the Telangana Olympic Association, and members of various sports associations participated in the programme.
