A Vignesh Reddy and Yash Satwalekar slammed centuries to put Sporting XI on a firm footing on day of the HCA A Division (2-day) League championship qualifier in Hyderabad on Tuesday.
Openers Yash and Vignesh hammered the Deccan Wanderers attack as they posted a double century partnership for the opening wicket.
The duo toyed with the rival bowling on way to a 231-run partnership which came off 263 balls. Vignesh, who was the dominant partner in the stand, scored a swashbuckling 140 off 133 balls with 15 fours and seven sixes before falling to Ashish Srivastav.
Yash contributed 86 off 130 balls to the partnership.
After Vignesh’ departure, Yash took charge of the proceedings and with Anvith Reddy for company added 82 for the second wicket before falling to P Nitish Reddy. Yash’s 138 came off 178 balls with 12 fours and four sixes.

Thereafter, Sporting XI lost their way a wee bit but a 75-run partnership for the fifth wicket off 110 balls between Shaik Sohail and Tanay Thyagarajann helped Sporting XI gain the initiative again.
After Tanay fell for 41, Deccan Wanderers hit back to take two more wickets as Sporting XI ended the day at 452 for seven in 90 overs.
Shaik Sohail was batting on 56 off 86 balls with three fours and a six.

SM Hussain Sayeed bagged five wickets to help Sportive XI cruise to a 147-run win over Ours in the pre-quarterfinals of the B Division (2-day) League Championship.

Replying to Sportive’s modest score of 227, Ours batters made a hash of the chase. None of the batters were up to the task and the team folded up for a paltry 80. Hussain Sayeed bagged five for seven in seven overs.
In another matches, Mahmood scored a 126-run win over Nalgonda District. Replying to Mahmood’s 322 for nine, Nalgonda were bowled out for 196 with Katta Akhil bagging four for 42.

Mahadev cruised to a five-wicket win over Postal thanks to Khush Agarwal’s 87 and R Gowtham Raj Yadav’s 62. Surya Kiran G took four for 92 for Postal.
Rohit XI thumped Vijay Hanuman by seven wickets. Chasing 230 for victory, Rohit XI made 232 for seven with B Sakshith Ram scoring 77.

Vijay Hanuman 229 in 62.3 overs lost to Rohit XI 232/7 in 70 overs (B Sakshith Ram 77, Jawad Khan 30).
