Dhivashree wins gold, Shivani clinches silver  

Dhivashree Kesavana of Tamil Nadu took the gold while Telangana’s Shivani Karra bagged the silver in the 200 metre backstroke event of the 42^nd Sub Junior National Aquatic Championship 2026 in Jaipur, Rajasthan, on Thursday.

Dhivashree Kesavana completed the race in 2:25.14 seconds to swim away with the gold medal. Shivani Karra finished with 2:26.71 seconds and hence had to be content with the silver medal.

Rounding off the podium was Serena Saroha of Haryana who completed her race in 2:31.19 seconds and won the bronze medal.

The championship is being organised by the Rajasthan Swimming Association under the auspices of the Swimming Federation of India.

Results: 200 M backstroke: 1. Dhivashree Kesavana (Tamil Nadu) 2:25:14 secs, 2. Shivani Karra (Telangana) 2:26.71 secs, 3. Serena Saroha (Haryana) 2:31.19 secs.
