Athletes from Cluster-A of the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate demonstrated exceptional talent and secured a total of 37 medals at the 5th Telangana Police Games & Sports Meet (2026) held on July 8 and 9 at the Saroornagar Indoor Stadium within the Malkajgiri Police Commissionerate limits in Hyderabad.
To mark this achievement, police commissioner Dr M Ramesh felicitated the winners on Friday at the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate headquarters auditorium, presenting them with cash incentives and medals.
In these competitions, Cyberabad police personnel achieved success across 37 events, winning 9 gold, 8 silver, and 20 bronze medals. They displayed outstanding prowess in both individual and team categories, including yoga, arm wrestling, wushu, taekwondo, boxing, karate, gymnastics, pencak silat, powerlifting, and bodybuilding, thereby earning special recognition for the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate at the state level.
Cyberabad CP Ramesh lauds athletes
On this occasion, CP Ramesh commended the athletes for achieving such success despite the constraints of their professional duties and limited training time. He expressed hope that they would carry this sporting spirit forward into all disciplines and elevate the prestige of the Cyberabad Police even further. He assured the athletes that the police department would always extend its support by providing necessary training, sports equipment, and other facilities.
The CP also said that mental well-being is just as crucial as physical fitness in police service, noting that sports help alleviate stress and enable personnel to discharge their duties more effectively. He encouraged every police employee to participate in at least one sport. He remarked that the current medal winners should serve as an inspiration to others and help unearth new talent. He described sports as a powerful platform that fosters friendship, unity, and mutual understanding, not only among individuals but also between nations. He added that working with a sporting spirit within the police department could lead to even better results.
The Cyberabad CP congratulated the officers and staff who won medals at the Telangana Police Games & Sports meet. Noting that their hard work, discipline, and dedication serve as an example for other police personnel, he expressed his hope that Cyberabad police athletes would achieve even greater success at the national level in the future.
