Bhavans Vivekananda (Sainikpuri) scored a narrow two-point win over Loyola Academy to win the final of the Osmania University Inter College Basketball Championship for the year 2026-27 at the Loyola Academy campus in Alwal, Hyderabad.
In a thrilling end to the championship, Bhavans and Loyola Academy put up a terrific show in the final. The hosts, who have been in rocking form, matched Bhavans Vivekananda in all the four quarters of the game. However, Bhavans managed to keep their nose above the water as they weathered the Loyola storm to eke out a 29-27 victory and bag the championship trophy.

Srinivas and Lokesh played well for Bhavans, while Anthony and Ashish were the stars for Loyola Academy.
In the third-place match, Mathrusri Engineering College scored a convincing 31-25 victory over St Joseph Degree College. Bilal and Nikhil did the bulk of the scoring for Mathrusri Engineering College, while Sai Jaswanth and Sriniketh played well for St Joseph.
Rev Fr Dr NB Babu SJ, principal, Loyola Academy, was the chief guest at the closing ceremony. The guests of honour were Sr Prof Rajesh Kumar, head, DPE Osmania University; Rev Fr K Anil Kumar SJ, vice principal and director of sports, Loyola Academy; Sr Prof B Sunil Kumar, dean, faculty of education, OU; Sr Prof K Deepla, director of physical education, OU.
