Baseball Association of Telangana conducts selection trials for South Zone championship

The Baseball Association of Telangana conducted selection trials for the Senior men’s and women’s teams to represent Telangana at the South Zone Senior Baseball Championships, scheduled to be held from October 16 to 18, 2026, in Nandyal, Andhra Pradesh.

The selection trials were attended by Chitti Sridhar, former Hyderabad Cricket Association EC member & Telangana State sports cell convenor, BJP; S Kavitha Devi, principal of P G College; Shweta, general secretary; Sanjay Kumar Singh, vice president; and Dr K Krishna, treasurer of the Baseball Association of Telangana.

Shweta seeks help for development of baseball

Shweta briefed the dignitaries about the upcoming championship and highlighted the challenges faced by baseball players in Telangana. She emphasized that many talented players come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds and continue to pursue the sport despite limited resources and a lack of adequate government support.

She appealed to the dignitaries to extend their support to the development of baseball in Telangana and help provide better opportunities and facilities for deserving players.

Chitti Sridhar appreciated the dedicated efforts of Shweta and the commitment of its players. He encouraged the players and extended his best wishes for their success in the upcoming South Zone Senior Championships.
