Azhar and Arun took three wickets apiece to bowl Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) Combined Districts to a 40-run win over Gold & Green Team in their Sri Lanka tour on Saturday.
Chasing 132 for victory, the local side were bundled out for 91 in 16 overs.
Gold & Green lost opener Deneth Deuminda (1) with just one on the board as he was trapped leg before by Zeeshan. Fellow opener Vinod Danushka and Sweitha Dulmal steadied the innings with a 27-run partnership for the second wicket before Azhar got rid of Vinod (15). From thereon, the Lankan team was unable to counter the Combined Districts attack and lost their way. They were reduced to eight for 60 before Hansaka struck an unbeaten 21 to take them to 89. Arun finished off the innings when he bowled Shanketh and Hansaka remained unbeaten on 21. Gold & Green were bowled out for 92.
Azhar took three for 16 and Arun bagged three for 20.

Earlier, Combined Districts got off to an exhilarating start with openers Harsha and G Saikrishna adding 67 for the first wicket in 4.3 overs. Harsha was the first to ball when he was trapped leg before by Lakmina for 11.
Saikrisha fell soon after making a sparkling 62 off 27 balls with six fours and five sixes. No.3 bat Narayana made a run-a-ball 25 but none of the other batters could contribute much to the score as Combined Districts were bowled out for 131.
Aloysius College thrash Combined Districts
In an earlier game, Combined Districts had lost to St Aloysuis by five wickets in a T20 encounter.
Put into bat, Combined Districts were able to reach 138 and lost nine wickets in the process. Afridi made a topscore of 42 off 27 balls and T Harshwardhan Singh contributed 22 off 14 balls to the score. S Aloysuis College’s Kavindu Amaranlins took two for 32 to restrict the score.

In reply, St Aloysuis were helped by sparkling half-centuries from the blades of D Deuminda and Vinod Danshuka. Deuminda made a 50-ball 56 and Danshuka scored a 42-ball 56 as St Aloysuis reached 139 losing five wickets in the process.
