The Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) has approved the Sri Lanka tour of the Combined Districts team of Telangana. The tour will provide a valuable opportunity for young cricketers from across the state of Telangana to gain international exposure and experience of playing in overseas conditions.
The decision to send a Combined Districts team to Sri Lanka was taken following the recommendations of the single member committee headed by Justice (retd) Naveen Rao. The decision was subsequently approved by the Apex Council of the HCA. The initiative aims to nurture emerging district-level talent and strengthen grassroots cricket development in Telangana.
The touring contingent will be accompanied by coach G Sudarshan Raju, manager Chekuri Venkateswara Rao (secretary of Khammam DCA), and observer C Srinivas (secretary of Warangal DCA). The officials will oversee the team during the tour.
The HCA officials stated that the initiative reflects the association’s commitment to strengthening grassroots cricket in Telangana and providing district players with opportunities to gain international exposure.
