Abhay Singh downs Henry Leung to win 13th PSA Squash Tour title in Malaysia

Abhay Singh defeated Henry Leung of Hong Kong, China, to claim the men’s singles title at the Tuanku Muhriz Trophy 2026 in Seremban, Malaysia, on Sunday.

The top-seeded Indian defeated Henry Leung 3-2 (11-7, 6-11, 3-11, 11-5, 12-10) in the final of the PSA Challenger Tour 15 event.

The victory marked the 27-year-old Indians 13th PSA Tour title and his second of the year, following his win at the Indian Open in Mumbai in March. Abhay, at world No. 24, is India’s highest-ranked men’s player.

It was also Abhay Singh’s third Tuanku Muhriz Trophy title. He previously won the tournament in 2022 and 2024.

After receiving an opening-round bye this year, Abhay began his campaign with a 3-1 (8-11, 11-2, 11-6, 11-2) victory over Malaysia’s Low Wa Sern in the second round.

Anahat and Abhay crowned squash champions

The two-time Asian Games medallist then defeated Malaysia’s Mohammad Syafiq Kamal 3-1 (11-4, 11-13, 11-5, 11-5) in the quarterfinals.

He overcame another Malaysian, Ameeshenraj Chandaran, 3-2 (7-11, 11-9, 11-7, 7-11, 11-3) in a 72-minute semifinal to make the title clash.

Abhay, who won gold in the men’s team and bronze in mixed doubles at Hangzhou 2023, is also part of the Indian squash squad for the Asian Games 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya. He is slated to compete in the men’s singles and team events.

Meanwhile, Rathika Suthanthira Seelan and Anika Dubey represented India in the women’s singles competition. Both bowed out in the round of 16.
