Vanka Pooja to lead Hyderabad Under-23 team

Vanka Pooja has been named captain of the Hyderabad Under-23 team for the BCCI Women’s Under-23 One-day Trophy matches to be held at Dehradum from March 3 to 11. The selectors met on Tuesday and finalized the squad for the first two games.

The senior women have performed badly in the BCCI’s Senior Women’s One-day Trophy. They have won only one match in the tournament thus far.

The squad: Vanka Pooja (captain), K Niteesha (VC), G Trisha, Sandhya Gora, S Yashasri, M Mamatha (Wk), Drithi Kesari, E Srujana, Prathiksha Venkatesh, M Sakshi Rao, E Darshini (Wk), P Akshaya Reddy (District), Akanksha Semwal, P Sri Chendhanaa, B Keerthana. Standbys: N Kranthi Reddy, Jazmine Gill, P Parvathi (District), S Mithra (Wk), D Pranavi Yadav.
