Third seed Karan Singh crowned a fantastic week with the men’s singles crown at the Hyderabad Open ITF $15K Men’s tennis tournament at Lake View Tennis Academy in Hyderabad on Sunday.

The Indian brooked no challenge in the final as he scored an easy straight sets win over top seed Max Houkes of The Netherlands to stamp his class in no uncertain terms.

The final was billed to be an intense affair as both players looked good right through the tournament. In fact, Houkes enjoyed a slight advantage as he had to spend a shorter time on the court in the semifinal. The Dutch player had scored a comfortable 6-3 6-4 win over Timofei Derepasko in the last four encounter.

On the other hand, Karan had to battle past a fighting unseeded Keshav Chopra of USA. Karan was stretched by the Indian-origin American in a tight three-setter. After losing the first set, Karan finally prevailed 4-6, 7-5, 6-4.
