S Lakshmi Akshara won the title in the U-59 kg of the cadet girls’ section at the 9th Inter-school Taekwondo Championship 2026 for sub-junior and cadet boys and girls at Game Point 100 Feet Road, Hyderabad, on Sunday.
Lakshmi Akshara was followed by Neha in that weight category. In the U- 55 kg weight category, Vaishnavi won the gold medal, while Mrunalini bagged the silver.
In the boys’ section, Likhith Sivapuram took the honours in the U-57 kg weight category. Jakhith won the silver medal.
In the U-53 kg category, Kabir Kar won the gold, while Moulana bagged the silver.
97 participants from 13 clubs and academies took part in the championship. All the players who got a gold and silver medal have qualified for the state Inter-school Taekwondo Championship to be held from August 28 to 30, 2026.
The championship was organized by United Taekwondo Academy under the guidance of the district association.
