Mahesh Deshmukh of Hyderabad and Mudavath Gopal of Ranga Reddy were unanimously elected as president and general secretary of the Telangana Mallakhamb Association for 2026-2030 at their annual general body meeting (AGM) Health League, Badichowdi, Sultan Bazar, Hyderabad, on Sunday afternoon.

The election process was conducted peacefully, transparently, and in accordance with the Constitution of the Association under the supervision of advocate M Sri Ram Murthy, who served as the Returning Officer.

The election proceedings were observed by: K Deepak Prasad, observer, Sports Authority of Telangana; J Manohar Kumar, observer, Telangana Olympic Association and GPC Shekhara Raju, observer, Mallakhamb Federation of India.

As there was only one valid nomination for each post, the Returning Officer officially declared all the candidates elected unopposed. Dilip Gavane was also unanimously elected as the chairman of the Telangana Mallakhamb Association.

The Returning Officer formally declared the candidates elected unopposed to their respective posts for a period of four years (2026–2030).

The newly elected Executive Committee expressed its commitment to strengthening Mallakhamb across Telangana by promoting grassroots development, organizing coaching camps, conducting district and state championships, encouraging women’s participation, and producing athletes capable of representing Telangana and India at national and international levels.

The Telangana Mallakhamb Association thanked all affiliated district associations, observers, delegates, officials, and members for their wholehearted cooperation in ensuring the smooth, fair, and successful conduct of the election process.

Vice-president (women): Vujjini Manjula (Yadadri Bhuvanagiri)

General secretary: Mudavath Gopal (Ranga Reddy)

Joint secretary: Thota Satish (Siddipet)

Joint secretary (women): M Santhoshi (Nizamabad)

Treasurer: Pole Anjaiah (Nagar Kurnool)

Members: Maripalli Sai Kumar (Mahabubabad), Goskula Harish (Jayashankar Bhupalpally), Marapelli Ajay Kumar (Jagityal), Vemula Maheshwari (Ranga Reddy), J Sreedhar (Vikarabad).

Athletes’ commission: Jana Bai Patil and Pradeep Kulkarni (members).
