Deccan Warriors eye win against Rajasthan United, look to move up in table in the IFL

Sreenidi Deccan FC will look to make a jump in the points table when they take on Rajasthan United FC in their Round 8 match of Phase 1 of the Indian Football League 2025–26 at the Deccan Arena in Hyderabad.

In their previous game of the league, the Deccan Warriors played out a 1-1 draw against Aizawl FC, whereas Rajasthan United FC come into the match with a 1-0 win at home against Gokulam Kerala FC. With 12 points from 7 matches, Sreenidi Deccan FC currently sit in 4th position in the points table, and a win on Sunday will take the Deccan Warriors into 2nd position.

Speaking ahead of the match, Head Coach Carlos Vaz Pinto stated, “Rajasthan is one of the best teams in the league, and they have a very good squad with a very good coach, and they are playing well at the moment. I expect nothing but a competitive and tough match tomorrow.”

Defender Abhash Thapa, who has previously played for the Desert Warriors, further added, “I am really excited and focused to face my previous team. We have prepared well as per the coaches planned and we are ready. We will give our best and try to get three points.”
