Mamatha struck a timely unbeaten century to help Hyderabad score a 68-run victory against Goa in the BCCI Women’s Under-23 One-day Trophy at the Abhimanyu Cricket Academy in Dehradun on Tuesday.
Hyderabad skipper Vanka Pooja won the toss and elected to bat first, but they found themselves in trouble very soon. Openers Akanksha Semwal (12) and Sandhya Gora (13) fell with 39 on the board.

Pooja (32) and Kunchala Niteehsa (10) added 33 for the third wicket and then Pooja added 25 for the fourth wicket with P Akshaya Reddy (10). However, Hyderabad were soon reduced to 88 for five.

With half the side back in the dugout, it was left to Mamatha to salvage the situation. The wicketkeeper-batter took upon herself the situation and did an excellent job with the tailenders.
Mamatha added 48 off 49 balls with V Prathiksha (29) with the latter doing the bulk of the scoring. Mamatha later found an excellent partner in No.9 bat K Srivalli and the duo produced the best batting session for Hyderabad. They added 103 off 81 balls with both players scoring half-centuries during the partnership. Srivalli made 52 off 44 balls with five fours and two sixes and Mamatha made 51 off 37 balls.
Mamatha remained unbeaten on 106 off 76 balls with 15 hits to the fence as Hyderabad made 282 for nine.

Goa fought well and made Hyderabad struggle for wickets. Though the Goa batters got starts most of them squandered it away and they were unable to produce a match-winning partnership. Opener Urvashi topscored with 54 as Goa were bowled out for 214 in 44.5 overs.
Kesari Drithi did the most damage with a four for 38 haul, while skipper Pooja took three for 50.
