American Amanda Sobhy thrashed top seed Georgina Kennedy 3-0 in just 32 minutes of play in the final of the Cincinnati Gaynor Cup 2026. Amanda, thereby, claimed a 23rd PSA title of her career.

The former World No.3 and Kennedy met twice in 2025 with both claiming a win over each other. The only best of five victory went the way of Sobhy, however, as she won the German Open title with a 3-0 win over Kennedy in March.

The Silver event final started in great style for Sobhy. The American raced out to a 6-1 lead against a nervous-looking Kennedy. The Englishwoman seemed reluctant to play any drop shots but used the boast to great effect instead. Kennedy won five points in a row to draw level at 6-6, three of the points coming from boast winners.

The American did a superb job of halting the momentum of Kennedy and after being awarded a stroke on game ball, won 11-8 to draw first blood in the final.

The strong, positive play of Sobhy continued in game two. The World No.11 once again found herself with a commanding 6-1 lead. This time, however, she kept her foot on the gas. Sobhy consistently pushed and pulled Kennedy into all four corners of the court and kept herself in the middle.

The variety of shots that Sobhy has was problematic for Kennedy, who needed to be able to cover any eventualtity. This deception was paramount throughout the whole game and took Sobhy to an important 2-0 lead. One hand firmly on the trophy for Sobhy.

More smart and structured play followed from the No.2 seed in the third game as she looked determined to finish the match in straight games and win a second Gaynor Cup title.

She stormed through to 10-7 and, after sealing the win at the first time of asking, let out a yell of joy as she claimed her 23rd PSA title, the third most titles of any player on the women’s tour.

Result (Final): 2-Amanda Sobhy (USA) beat 1-Georgina Kennedy (ENG) 3-0 (11-8, 11-2, 11-7).
