Pragya Rawat’s century trumped G Trisha’s ton as Delhi hammered Hyderabad by eight wickets in the BCCI’s Senior Women’s One-day Trophy at the Usha Martin ground in Ranchi on Saturday.

Hyderabad’s dismal show continued as the women crashed to yet another loss. Out of the five matches played so far, Hyderabad have lost four games.

On Saturday, Hyderabad skipper Vellore Mahesh Kavya won the toss and elected to bat first. But they lost the consistent Sandhya Gora (7) with 10 on the board. However, Trisha and wicketkeeper E Darshini tried to steady the innings. The duo added 42 for the second wicket before Darshini was caught and bowled by Nazma for 20 off 30 balls with four boundaries.

Hyderabad wobbled as they lost Kunchala Niteesha (0) and Vanka Pooja (1), both of them were packed off by Nazma. Tanisha Singh made it 68 for five when she dispatched Kavya (2).

Trisha, who was a mute spectator at the other end, found a partner in M Sakshi Rao (19) and the duo added 43 for the sixth wicket off 59 balls.

After Sakshi fell, Trisha and Yashasri produced the best partnership of the innings. They added 73 off 94 balls with Trisha contributing 44 off 45 balls and Yashasri scoring 19.

Trisha remained not out on 102 off 137 balls with 10 fours and two sixes as Hyderabad were restricted to 203 for eight.

Delhi women, on the other hand, were off to a rollicking start with openers Tanisha Singh and Pragya Rawat putting the Hyderabad attack to the sword. The duo added 124 for the opening wicket before Tanisha was out for 45 off 60 balls with three fours. She was trapped leg before by Vanka Pooja.

Ayush Soni (15) fell soon but Pragya and Nazma saw their side home with an unbroken 59 run partnership for the third wicket. Pragya contributed 30 off 33 balls and Nazma scored 26 off 53 balls.

Pragya remained unconquered on 104 off 130 balls with nine fours and Nazma was not out on 26 as Delhi made 204 for two in 43.5 overs.

Kavya used eight bowlers, including herself, but none of them were able to restrain the Delhi batters.

Hyderabad are placed seventh in the eight-team Group C with four points from one win and Delhi are in the second position with 16 points after five rounds.

Brief scores: Hyderabad 203/8 in 50 overs (G Trisha 102 not out, E Darshini 20; Nazma 3/28, Tanisha Singh 2/16, Bharti Rawal 2/37) lost to Delhi 204/2 in 43.5 overs (Pragya Rawat 104 not out, Tanisha Singh 45).
