Hygiia Ventures Pvt Ltd has partnered with the Rohan Bopanna Tennis Academy (RBTA) to support the continued development of young tennis athletes and high-performance initiatives in India.
Hygiia Ventures has increasingly invested in the Indian sporting ecosystem, with its ownership of the Gurgaon Grand Slammers representing its involvement in professional tennis through the Tennis Premier League. The partnership with RBTA extends this involvement into the athlete development pathway, supporting opportunities for young players beyond the professional level. Hygiia is led by Gaurav Agarwal and owner of the Gurgaon Grand Slammers franchise in the Tennis Premier League (TPL).
Based in Bengaluru, the Rohan Bopanna Tennis Academy is focused on developing the next generation of Indian tennis talent through structured coaching, training and high-performance opportunities. The Academy is home to players including current India women’s No. 1 singles player Vaishnavi Adkar and India top men’s singles players Sumit Nagal and Dhakshineswar Suresh, while also supporting young athletes through broader development initiatives.

Additionally, through the Bhoomi Program, RBTA also supports the education, lodging, boarding and tennis training requirements of underprivileged children from Assam and Jammu, helping provide access to tennis and a more comprehensive pathway for young athletes from different backgrounds.
The partnership brings together Hygiia Ventures’ growing investment in Indian sport with RBTA’s focus on developing athletes through a structured high-performance environment. The support will contribute towards initiatives at the Academy spanning athlete development, coaching and training, education support, infrastructure and technology, equipment and tournament participation.
Gaurav Agarwal, founder/director, Hygiia Ventures, said: “Rohan is undeniably one of the most resilient and inspiring icons in Indian sports history. His unrivaled consistency, perseverance, and fierce passion for tennis have always inspired me. Seeing him bring that legendary energy and roaring competitive spirit into RBTA makes me incredibly thrilled to stand alongside him. We are fully aligned in our ambition to support and build India’s next generation of tennis champions. Rohan and I both believe in a simple truth that defines this exciting partnership: the best is always yet to come.”
Rohan Bopanna, founder/director, RBTA, said: “Developing a young athlete takes time, patience and the right people around them. Talent is important, but so are good coaching, education, high-performance support and having an environment that allows them to grow with confidence.
“At RBTA, we want to give young players the best possible opportunity to develop, compete and see how far they can take their tennis. I’m really happy to welcome Hygiia Ventures as a partner on this journey. Their support will help us strengthen the ecosystem around our players and, most importantly, create more opportunities for young Indian athletes to pursue their potential,” he added.
The partnership brings RBTA and Hygiia Ventures together with a shared commitment to supporting the development of young Indian athletes and giving them greater access to the resources, guidance and opportunities they need to progress in the sport.
