Suhas Preetham clinches Telangana’s second gold medal at Jr Natl Aquatic Championship

Telangana’s swimming star Suhas Preetham Mylari delivered another outstanding performance at the 52nd Junior National Aquatic Championship 2026 by clinching a gold medal in the Men’s 50m Backstroke event.

Suhas clocked an impressive 26.95 seconds to secure the top position and bring Telangana its second gold medal of the championship.

Suhas has been training at Gachibowli Stadium under the Sports Authority of Telangana (SATG), under the guidance of coach Ayush Yadav.

The gold medal further underlines Suhas Preetham’s growing stature as one of Telangana’s promising swimmers and reflects the continued progress of high-performance swimming in the state.

Sports Authority of Telangana & Telangana Swimming Association congratulated Suhas Preetham Mylari, coach Ayush Yadav and the entire support team on this outstanding achievement.

Result: Men’s 50m Backstroke: 1. Suhas Preetham Mylari (Telangana) 26.95 seconds, 2. Aryan Abhijit Patil (Karnataka) 27.54 seconds, 3. Aman Abhijit Sungan (Karnataka) 27.57 seconds.
