Dinesh scalps five as Cambridge XI coast to a 9-wicket win over Imperial; Central Excise win

R Dinesh bowled Cambridge XI to a thumping nine-wicket win over Imperial in the league phase of the HCA A Division T20 tournament in Hyderabad on Friday.

Batting first, Imperial batters put up a shoddy show as they were bowled out for a lowly 111 in 17.1 overs. R Dinesh was the pick of the bowlers as he claimed five for 22 in his four overs.

In reply, Cambridge XI knocked off the runs in 9.1 overs as they raced to 115 for one. K Bhagath Varma made an unbeaten 56.

PS Chaitanya Reddy missed out on a century, but his effort ensured a seven-wicket win over Central Excise over Deccan Wanderers in a high scoring game.

Deccan Wanderers, batting first, made a competitive 224 for five in 19 overs with Rishiketh Sisodia making 89 and Harshit Choudhary getting 85. However, the total was not sufficient to prevent Central Excise from gaining full points from the game.

Central Excise batters took up the challenge and scored 230 for three in 17.2 overs with Chaitanya Reddy making 94 and C Abhinav Tej scoring an unbeaten 54.

Sporting XI brought Charminar to the ground with a 19-run win. Sporting XI made 197 for six with A Takhshith Rao getting 61 and A Varun Goud scoring 57. In reply, Charminar were restricted to 178 for nine despite Bhavesh Seth scoring 53.

In another high-scoring game, EMCC scored a 50-run win over Deccan Chronicle. EMCC ran up a massive 259 for four in their 20 overs with half-centuries from the blades of A Avinash Rao (57) and Sancheit Binjrajka (53). In reply, Deccan Chronicle were bowled out for 209 in 19.4 overs with Nishanth Saranu taking three for 50.

Abhirath Reddy scored an unbeaten half-century to steer Jai Hanuman to a five-wicket win over Evergreen. Abhirath made 84 and A Prateek Reddy scored 58 as Jai Hanuman made 200 for five in 16.4 overs.

Earlier, Evergreen scored 198 for six with Sai Vikas Reddy making 54 and Aaron George Varghese scoring 52. Shanmukha Ashwin took three for 32 for Jai Hanuman.

Balaaji scored a seven-wicket win over State Bank of India. SBI made a modest 147 for four with B Sumanth scoring an unbeaten 49. In reply, Balaaji made 148 for three with Prateek Pawar scoring an unbeaten 42.

Raghava Pattapu scored an unbeaten 67 to power R Dayanand to a seven-wicket win over Combined District-2.
