Former state player BR Vivekanand passed away on October 10, 2026, and the funeral was held later in the day in Hyderabad. The 71-year-old Vivekanand is survived by his daughter.
He played for Bolarum Sporting Club and then represented Andhra Pradesh team in the Junior Nationals 1976 and the Andhra Pradesh team in the Senior National in 1978. He also represented Indian Railways in 1979.
The Telangana Football Association (TFA) expressed its deepest condolences on the untimely passing of Vivekanand. The football association held a condolence meeting at its office in the evening.
All the TFA office-bearers, referees, coaches and senior players attended the meeting.
