Yashveer bowls DC to 10-wicket win; Lokesh, Shivan, Irfan, Pranav, Karan & Nihal hit tons

Yashveer Goud set up Deccan Chronicle’s thumping 10-wicket win over Combined Districts-1 in the second round of the HCA’s A Division (2-day) League Championship in Hyderabad on Thursday.

As the start of the League season was deferred by a few days, the teams had just one day of rest between the first round and second round of matches.

Yashveer Goud bagged five for 31 as Combined Districts were skittled out for a lowly 112 in 38.4 overs. In reply, Deccan Chronicle made 116 without loss in 17.1 overs as Ashesh Singh scored 56 and M Pratyush Kumar made 54.

Shashank Lokesh was batting on 131 as Cambridge XI ran up 302 for four against Combined District-2

Cambridge XI were in a position of great strength against Combined District-2.

Cambridge XI reached 302 for four in 54.2 overs with Shashank Lokesh batting on a superb 131 off 154 balls with 16 fours and two sixes and giving him company was Rahul Buddhi on 55.

Shivan Tiwari and Irfan Khan struck centuries to prop up the AOC total against Sporting XI.

Mudassar, Tarun & Varun among the wickets

Batting first, AOC ran up a huge 406 with Shivam scoring a 90-ball 112 with 13 fours, while Irfan scored 149 off 138 balls with 12 fours and seven sixes. A Varun Goud had figures of five for 114.

Pranav Varma hammered a century to help Budding Star put up a solid total against State Bank of India. Budding Stars, batting first, were 353 for eight at stumps with Pranav hammering a 68-ball 150 with 10 fours and a whopping 15 sixes. Rakshann Readdi was batting on 66.

Mudassar Hussain wreaked havoc against Charminar to put Jai Hanuman in the driver’s seat. Mudassar proved quite a handful for the Charminar batters as he ran through the rival side. Charminar could manage only 213 in 36.3 overs despite Karan Yadav scoring 103 off 85 balls with 11 fours and six sixes. Karan, however, failed to get support from the rest of the batters barring Bhavesh Seth (38).

Mudassar finished with figures of six for 33 in 8.3 overs. Jai Hanuman, in reply, were 105 for two in 31 overs.

Nihaal Reddy struck an unbeaten century to help SCRSA reach 306 in 53.2 overs against UBI. Nihaal Reddy made 111 off 117 balls with 10 fours and three sixes.

Tarun Rajan took six for 77 for UBI, who were reduced to 58 for two by stumps on the first day.

Mohd Taha Shaik took four for 38 to restrict Central Excise to a modest 252. In reply, Gemini Friends were 75 for one.
