The World Masters MT200 Tennis Tournament will be held from September 6 to 10, 2026 at the Thyagraj Stadium, Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium and R K Khanna Stadium in New Delhi.
So far, 20 women and 230 men players have registered for the tournament across various age categories. The enthusiastic participation of Masters players from different parts of the country is making this tournament a grand gathering of senior tennis players.
MT200 tournaments are part of the World Tennis Masters (Earlier ITF) Masters Tennis Tour. Players earn World Tennis Masters Tour ranking points based on their performance in these tournaments. These ranking points determine their world ranking and play an important role in the selection of players to represent their respective countries at the World Masters Team Championships.
The tournament will feature several prominent Indian Masters Tennis players, including players who have previously been part of the Indian contingent at the World Masters Championships.
Some of the prominent men players are Arvind Bhasin, Rakesh Kohli, Ajeet Bhardwaj, Ajay Talwar, Pawan Jain, Rajan Beri, Raj Dutt, Alok Bhatnagar, Avanish Rastogi, Vijay Kumar, Swaranjit Singh Dodi, Rohan Bhasin and Aditya Khanna.
Among the women players are Vibha Choudhary, who has represented India at the Masters World Tour on four occasions, Mansi Majeji and Kamal Nikunj. The participation of these experienced players further enhances the level and stature of the competition.
World Masters in memory of Dwarka Prasad
The prestigious World Masters MT200 Tennis Tournament is being organised in memory of late Dwarka Prasad, who was the Railway champion for 20 consecutive years and made a significant contribution to the field of tennis.
Dwarka Prasad’s son Chandra Bhushan Prasad himself is an accomplished tennis player. He was the P&T Champion for nearly 10 years, served as a coach with the Sports Authority of India (SAI) and has also captained the Indian Masters team on several occasions.
The event will not only promote Masters Tennis but will also serve as a fitting tribute to the dedicated life and lasting legacy of Dwarka Prasad in the sport of tennis.
