VDCA conducts trials to select Visakhapatnam district junior and sub-junior basketball teams
The Visakhapatnam District Basketball Association (VDCA) conducted selection trials on Saturday and Sunday at BVK High School in Visalakshi Nagar, Visakhapatnam. The selected teams will take part in the State-Level Basketball Championship to be held in the month of May 2026.
The trials are being held to select the junior and sub-junior boys’ and girls’ teams. 45 boys and 20 girls participated in the sub-junior selections. Of these 20 boys and 20 girls will be selected for the coaching camp. After which a team of 12 players each will be selected to represent Visakhapatnam district in the boys’ and girls’ categories.

In the junior category, 80 boys and 35 girls took part in the selection trials. From these trials, 25 boys and an equal number of girls will be shortlisted for the coaching camp. After the completion of the camp, a final team of 12 players each (boys & girls) will be selected to represent the district.
