As India sharpens its focus on becoming a global sporting powerhouse, Telangana is emerging as one of the states leading this transformation with clarity of vision and purpose. At RevSportz Trailblazers 4.0, Telangana took centre stage as the feature state, presenting a progressive model of how policy, leadership, and partnerships can come together to build a robust sporting ecosystem.
At the heart of Telangana’s approach is strong and consistent leadership. Jayesh Ranjan, special chief secretary, government of Telangana, said: “The kind of interest the chief minister is taking is commendable. Unless the leadership prioritises it, things do not move in the right direction. Multiple things are moving forward now. India could possibly host the 2036 Olympics.”
This top-down commitment is already translating into tangible action on the ground.
As part of Trailblazers 4.0, Telangana showcased the Young India Physical Education and Sports University (YIPESU). With the right vision and focus, the university is well placed to fill a significant gap in the sports scholarship ecosystem and strengthen India’s use of sport as soft power. and chart the road ahead.

Rather than diffusing resources, the state plans to identify and focus on 14 to 18 priority disciplines, enabling deeper investment, specialised coaching, and world-class infrastructure. “We will pick 14–18 sports, then specialize,” said Jayesh Ranjan.
This targeted approach is designed to create centres of excellence that can consistently produce athletes capable of competing at the highest global level. At the conclave, the panel discussed the vision, the focus areas and where this would make a difference in light with emerging trends.
This forward-looking initiative aims to integrate education with high-performance training, ensuring that young athletes receive holistic development while being nurtured for international success. It represents a long-term commitment to building a structured talent pipeline aligned with India’s Olympic ambitions.
Trailblazers 4.0 was attended by over 30 leading athletes, corporates, and policymakers and the conclave enabled meaningful dialogue, knowledge exchange, and partnership opportunities.
