Suvarna Lakshmi to head HCA women’s selection committee for 2026-27 season

Former player BR Suvarna Lakshmi has been appointed as chairperson of Hyderabad’s women’s selection committee for the 2026-27 season.

The 47-year-old Lakshmi will lead the committee which will comprise four other members. They are: Anita Mishra, G Sangeeta, M Keertana and Ekta Saxena, according to a press release issued by the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA).

“The Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) is pleased to announce that the Single Member Committee has approved the constitution of the Women’s Selection Committee for the 2026–27 season,” says the release which was issued by secretary M Jeevan Reddy.

“On behalf of the Hyderabad Cricket Association, I am delighted to announce the appointment of the above members as the Women’s Selection Committee for the 2026–27 season, with the approval of the Single Member Committee.

“I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the chairperson and all the members on their appointment. “I wish the committee every success in its tenure and look forward to its valuable contribution towards the continued growth and development of women’s cricket in Hyderabad,” stated Jeevan Reddy in the release.
