State Bank of India (Amaravati Circle) posted back-to-back wins with a comfortable 39-24 win over Gymkhana Club in the GM Sampath Kumar Annual League Basketball Championship 2026-27 at the YMCA Secunderabad on Tuesday.
On a rain-hit day where two matches were postponed due to the heavy down pour, State Bank of India took off from where they left the previous day. Their hoopsters were all over the rival court as they held the upperhand in both the halves of the game. SBI led 23-11 at half-time.
State Bank of India continued with their fast-paced game to catch the Gymkhana Club players off guard. The bankmen scored a massive 15 points through Krishna and Karthik, whereas Srikant scored 4 points for Gymkhana Club as SBI led 15-8 at the end of first quarter.

In an equally contested second quarter, both teams concentrated on their defense. It turned out to be a low-scoring quarter and SBI managed to score 8 points against the 4 added to their tally by Gymkhana. SBI ended the first half with a handy eight points lead.
After the lemon break, both teams tightened their defense and thereby denied their opponent the chance to score. There were few shots and fewer points scored in the second half. SBI added 16 points to their tally in third and fourth quarters, whereas Gymkhana Club could only muster 12 points. SBI went home in a happy frame of mind as they eked out a 39-24 win.
