KV Sasikanth was the pick of the players at the much-anticipated Andhra Premier League (APL) player auction which took place on Sunday at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Visakhapatnam.
Sasikanth, who has been in terrific form this season, was bought by Amaravathi Royals for a record-breaking Rs 16.25 lakh.
After Sasikanth, bowler Stephen Veeraghavulu Cheepurapalli bagged the next highest bid. He was taken up by Tungabhadra Warriors for Rs 12.25 lakh.

All-rounder Chennu Siddhardha was bought by Vijayawada Sunshiners for Rs 11.25 lakh.
Seven competitive teams participated in the event, with each team securing a total purse of ₹55 lakh. to build their squads. All seven teams successfully acquired 22 players each during the auction, categorized into Groups A, B, and C for balanced competition.
Notable dignitaries present at the auction included APL chairman Sujay Krishna Ranga Rao, Girish Dongre (COO, ACA), and M S Kumar (GM, game development, ACA). Adding prestige to the event, Wasim Jaffar, renowned India cricketer and mentor, was seated alongside Royals of Rayalaseema.
This auction sets the stage for an electrifying APL season, promising high-octane cricket for fans across Andhra Pradesh.
