Saif Ansari’s hat-trick helped Telangana score a convincing 4-0 win over Madhya Pradesh in the 79th Santosh Trophy National Football Championship at the Ramakrishna Mission Ashram Ground in Narainpur, Chhattisgarh, on Friday. B Sunil opened the scoring in the seventh minute of the game. Thereafter, both teams drew a blank. After the break, it was Ansari who hogged the limelight. He struck in the 48th minute to make it 2-0 for Telangana. He was back in the thick of action 17 minutes later as he slotted the ball into the goal. Five minutes later, he completed his well-deserved hat-trick and made it 4-0 for his team.

Nizamabad District score three-wicket win over Hyderabad Blues
Srikar (69) and Y Gari Varshith (53) scored half-centuries to steer Nizamabad District to a three-wicket victory over Hyderabad Blues in the HCA’s B Division T20 League-cum-Knock-out Tournament in Hyderabad on Saturday.

Adilabad District scored a 70-run win over Mancherial District in the G Venkataswamy Memorial Telangana T20 Cricket League on Saturday. Electing to bat, Adilabad made 130 for nine in their 20 overs with Mohammed Asfan scoring 68 of those. In reply, Mancherial were bowled out for 60 in 13.2 overs with Shaik Amaan claiming three for eight, Raja Babu Jadhav taking three for nine and Pranav bagging three for 16.

Selections for cross country races on December 30
