Rahul Radesh helped himself to an unbeaten century as Hyderabad ran up 384 against Bengal on the second day of their Col CK Nayudu Trophy match at the Aditya Academy ground in Kolkata on Saturday.

Rahul Radesh scored 141 off 225 balls with 21 fours and a six. However, Bengal made a strong reply and were 177 for four at stumps. Shashank Singh was batting on 58 off 111 balls with eight fours and giving him company was wicketkeeper Sumit Nag on 6 off 36 balls with a four.

Bengal, replying to Hyderabad’s 384, failed to get a solid start as opener Anas (11) was caught by Wafi Kachchhi off Dinesh Rathod with the score reading 30.

However, Ayush Kumar Singh and Chandrahas Dash steadied the innings with a 61-run partnership for the second wicket before Ayush Kumar fell to Pranav Varma. Ayush had made a 63-ball 50 with nine fours.

Pranav struck a second blow soon, at the same score of 91, as he trapped Prabhat Maurya leg before. The Bengal batter had failed to open his score.

But Dash and Shashank Singh defied the Hyderabad bowlers and added 67 for the fourth wicket before the former was stumped by Aravelly Avavnish off left-arm spinner Nitin Sai Yadav. Dash had made 47 off 120 balls with six fours.

Earlier, resuming at their overnight score of 276 for six, Hyderabad’s Rahul, who was on 82 overnight, and Nitin Sai Yadav, who was on two, added 53 off 104 balls to the total before Nitin fell for a 70-ball 32.

Southpaw Rahul then added 40 off 80 balls with Mohd Abdul Adnan (11) to take the score past the 350-mark. Hyderabad were finally out for 384 in 122.1 overs with Rahul unconquered on 141.

Brief scores: Hyderabad 384 in 122.1 overs (Rahul Radhesh 141 not out, Nitin Sai Yadav 32; Prabhat Maurya 3/45, Rohit 3/41) vs Bengal 177/4 in 57 overs (Ayush Kumar 50, Chandrahas Dash 47, Shashank Singh 58 batting).
