Deccan Wanderers, riding on P Nitish Reddy’s double century, posted a 146-run win over Central Excise in the third round of the HCA’s A Division (2-day) League Championship in Hyderabad on last Tuesday.

Deccan Wanderers, resuming at their overnight score of 246 for three in 37 overs, went on to make 409 for six in 57 overs. Nitish Reddy, who was batting on 107, scored a superb 203 off 176 balls with 16 fours and 10 sixes.
Central Excise were unable to match the heroics of their rivals and ended up with 263 for three in 57 overs with Varun Vinod Kumar scoring an unbeaten 110 off 162 balls with 11 fours and a six.

Replying to Charminar’s 308, EMCC, who were 107 for one at stumps on the first day, went on to reach 314 for two. Aman Rao, who was on 52, remained unbeaten on 165 off 165 balls with 26 fours and two sixes. A Avanish Rao (71) and Pragnay Reddy (52 not out) struck half-centuries.
Pranav Varma and A Jai Ram Kasyap starred in Budding Star’s 120-run win over Hyderabad Bottling. Resuming at their overnight score of 142 for two, Budding Star made 229 for two in 50 overs with Kasyap, who was on 70 at close of play, made an unbeaten 109 off 134 balls with 13 fours and three sixes.

In reply, Hyderabad Bottling were bundled out for 109 with Pranav Varma bagging five for 43.
SCRSA’s A Sai Ardrit bagged five wickets as Deccan Chronicle managed to eke out a draw. Replying to SCRSA’s 196, Deccan Chronicle were reduced to 68 for seven in 19 overs with Ardrit bagging five for 16.
Jai Hanuman scored a seven-wicket win over Combined District-1 in a low-scoring game. Replying to Combined District-1’s modest 117, Jai Hanuman scored 121 for three.
Ammaar Ayub bowled Cambridge XI to a 68-run win over Imperial. Replying to Cambridge XI’s 256, Imperial could only make 188 as Ammaar Ayub took four for 28 and K Bhagath Varma got three for 40.
MP Colts coasted to a comfortable six-wicket win over Combined District-2. Chasing Combined Districts’ 230, MP Colts made 234 for four with Rahul Radhesh scoring 88 and S Vaishnav Reddy making 61.
The AOC vs Evergreen match was abandoned as play was not possible on both days because of wet ground conditions.
