After two victories, State Bank of India (Amaravati Circle) found their match in Mahendra Hills Basketball Club, who cruised to a resounding 82-36 win in the GM Sampath Kumar Annual League Basketball Championship 2026-27 at YMCA Secunderabad on Thursday.
Mahendra Hills hoopsters played flawless basketball in the first quarter. They scored fast break points through Tagore and Tanay and when State Bank of India tightened their defence, Daniel scored from outside the arc. Mahendra Hills took a comfortable 22-6 lead in the first quarter as State Bank of India struggled to score.

In the second quarter, State Bank of India showed some grit and determination as they scored 12 points through Bijoy and Pandu. However, Tanay scored 3 consecutive baskets to help Mahendra Hills bounce back. Mahendra Hills led 39-18 at half-time.
After change of ends, State Bank of India tried hard to make a comeback. They scored 9 points apiece in the 3rd and 4th quarters, but Mahendra Hills did not crumble under the pressure. They scored 22 and 21 points in the 3rd and 4th quarter to handsomely win the match at 82-36.
This was State Bank of India’s first loss in three matches.
