Film Nagar Cultural Centre (FNCC) Lions scored a resounding 7-3 victory over Yavuputra Tigers on the second day of the FNCC-Pullela Gopichand Badminton League 2026 at the FNCC in Hyderabad on Sunday.
The FNCC men proved too strong for their rivals as they won four out of the five matches. Dattu began the campaign on a resounding note as he defeated Lokesh Reddy 15-12, 15-12.

Dhayan Santosh was stretched by Shourya before winning in three games. Shourya took the first game at 15-11 but Santosh fought back in the second to win 15-11. In the decider, Santosh prevailed 15-13 to make it 2-0 in favour of FNCC Lions.
In the third men’s singles, Krishav too came from behind to pip Linesh. Krishav lost the first game at 7-15 but then made amends. He took the next two games at 15-10, 15-14.

Tarun Manepalli denied FNCC Lions a clean sweep as he defeated Rohan 15-11, 15-8 to get a point for Yavuputra Tigers.
Lions and Tigers share spoils in women’s singles
In the women’s singles, it was a different story as FNCC Lions and Yavuputra Tigers won two matches each. Rakshita Sree overcame mid-match blues to get past a fighting Tanvi. In a closely fought first game, both players fought tooth-and-nail before Rakshita prevailed 15-14. However, Tanvi came back strongly to win the second game at 15-13. But Rakshita hung on grimly to take the tight third game 15-14.
Lohita had an easy outing against Aaradhya as she pulled off a 15-14, 15-12 victory.
Sresta came from behind to score a 12-15, 15-14, 15-13 win over Gatha of FNCC Lions. Yavuputra Tigers’ Avani defeated Aaradhya 13-15, 15-13, 15-13.

In the men’s doubles, Ishan and Om defeated Ruban Mithelesh in a thrilling three-game match. The FNCC pair won 13-15, 15-11, 15-14.
The women’s doubles too was won by FNCC Lions. Anushka and Anagha defeated Anjana and Aradhana 15-13, 10-15, 15-13.
