Telangana’s Koppera Sindu has been called for selection trials for the India Under-18 girls volleyball team. The trials will be held at Harvansh Tana Bhagat Indoor Stadium in Ranchi, Jharkhand, on April 17 and 18. The players have to report at the venue at 10 am on April 17.
Only players reporting/registering on the said date will be allowed to appear for the trials, says a release from School Games Federation of India.
The selected team will take part in the World School Volleyball Championship Under-18 for boys and girls at Shangluo, China, from July 1 to 10. The championship will be hosted by the International School Sports Federation.
Sindu, who is a Class X student at Telangana Social Welfare Residential School/Junior College in Tungaturthy, is among the 29 top players of the country who have been called for the selection trials. The players were identified during the 69th National School Games held at Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh from November 11 to 15, 2025.
The Telangana Social Welfare Residential Degree & Jr Colleges PDs and PETs Association expressed happiness on the remarkable achievement of Sindu. Chairman Dr Rama Laxman, president Narsaiah, general secretary Chander, and women wing president Neeraja extended their heartfelt congratulations to the player.
They also extended their wishes to coach Satish, the principal, and the entire staff for their dedicated efforts and support in nurturing this success. They also congratulated her parents.
