Imran Khan struck a brilliant century to power Kakatiyans to a thumping nine-wicket victory over Blues Veterans in the Sun 40+ Masters Premier League at SR Cricket Ground in Aziz Nagar on Friday.
Chasing 164 for victory, Kakatiyans reached the target losing only one wicket with 2.5 or 17 balls to spare. Imran hammered a 47-ball 103 as he wielded the willow with power and precision. His strokeplay stunned the Blues Veterans, whose bowlers had no answer to his onslaught. Pavan Konda made a 43-ball 35 and let him admirable support.
Earlier, Blues were restricted to 163 for six with Abhishek making a topscore of 48 off 38 balls. The total, however, proved insufficient as Kakatiyans roared to victory.
Prestige Veterans win by six wickets
In another match, Prestige Veterans carved out a six-wicket victory over Hyderabad Legends.
Batting first, Hyderabad Legends made a formidable 205 for five in their 20 overs with Ravi scoring 78 off 32 balls and Damodar Reddy getting a 31-ball 52.
Prestige Veterans rode on Parimal and Giridhar’s half-centuries home with five balls to spare. They replied with 207 for four in 19.1 overs.
Parimal topscored with a 44-ball 79 and Giridhar made 55 off 26 balls.

Nanded Veterans down Braveheart Pune
In the third match of the day, Nanded Veterans scored a 37-run win over Braveheart Pune Veterans. Batting first, Nanded Veterans scored 151 for nine in their 20 overs with Ismail and Sheik Zahid scoring an identical 24 runs each. Naushad Khan bagged three for 23 for Braveheart Pune Veterans.
In reply, Braveheart Pune Veterans were restricted to 114 for eight in their stipulated overs as Zahid took three for 12 and claim the Man of the Match award. Vasim made 33 off 27 balls in a losing cause.
Columbia Masters lord it over Hyderabad Royals
In the last match of the day, Columbia Masters lorded it over Hyderabad Royals by 25 runs thanks to Dilip’s half-century.
Batting first, Columbia Masters ran up 201 for six in 20 overs as Dilip hammered a 34-ball 57. Satish made 30 off 18 balls and Sunil added 24 off 14 balls to the score.
Hyderabad Royals fought well but fell short by 25 runs. Khaja topscored with a 23-ball 40, while SS Bharat made 35 off 18 balls. Suman made 24 (20 balls) and Kiran Patil scored 21 (21 balls) but their efforts were not sufficient to win the game. Kiran took three for 33 to propel Columbia Masters home.
