Hyderabad women’s woes seem to be never ending as they crashed to their fourth defeated in five matches in the BCCI Senior Women’s T20 Trophy. They lost to Uttarakhand by 89 runs, while Andhra women continued with their winning streak as they hammered Himachal Pradesh by nine wickets.

At the MCA Cricket Stadium in Gahunge, Pune, Hyderabad put up another shoddy show with both bat and ball to crash to yet another humiliating loss.

Uttarakhand, batting first, were off to a flying start with openers Raghvi Bist and Kareen hammering 72 off 59 balls before Kareena fell. She was caught by Sakshi Rao off Kranthi Reddy for a 34-ball 44 with nine fours.

Skipper Raghvi and Neelam Bhardwaj took the score to 129 with a 57-run partnership off 44 balls for the second wicket before Neelam was caught by G Trisha off Sakshi Rao for 19 off 22 balls with two fours.

Prema takes game away from Hyderabad

Raghvi and Prema Rawat then took the game away from Hyderabad with a 58-run partnership for the unbroken third wicket. Prema remained unbeaten on 50 off just 14 balls with three fours and six sixes, while Raghvi was not out on 72 off 50 balls with five fours and four sixes. Uttarakhand made 189 for two in 20 overs.

Hyderabad hardly put up a fight as they lost wickets at regular intervals and were restricted to 98 for eight. G Kavyasree topscored with 26, while stand-in captain M Mamatha got 25 and Vanka Pooja made an unbeaten 20 but none of them made a difference.

Hyderabad have lost four of their five matches and are lying in the sixth position in Group D with four points from the solitary win against Jharkhand, who are at the bottom of the table.

Anusha, Henrietta power Andhra home

At the PCA Stadium, Ground B, in New Chandigarh, Andhra dished out yet another all-round show to thump Himachal Pradesh.

Batting first, Himachal Pradesh could not get the necessary momentum in their innings to mount a challenging total on the board. Himanshi Mehta made a topscore of 34 without getting out. Her knock came off 19 balls with three fours and two sixes as it helped Himachal Pradesh put up 131 for six.

Harleen Deol (28) and Sonal Thakur (28) got starts but failed to make it count for their team.

Anjali Sarvani took two for 24, while Shabnam Shakil got one for nine in three overs and B Anusha took one for 37.

In reply, Andhra lost Ranga Lakshmi (13) with 38 on the board but N Anusha and Henrietta Pereira hit half-centuries to help Andhra post another big victory.
