Hrishikesh and Mickil hit centuries; Team H and Team D pull of victories within 2 days

Skipper Hrishikesh Simha struck a timely century to help Team G take a handy 121-run first innings lead against Team F in the HCA’s Senior Men’s Super League at the Dr N Kondal Rao Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad on Wednesday.

Resuming at their overnight score of 224 for nine, Team F opener and skipper P Aman Rao, who scored a battling half-century on the opening day, lasted only three balls. He was the last man to fall as he was caught by G Rithish Reddy off T Ravi Teja for 79 off 97 balls with 10 fours and three sixes. Team F were bowled out for 224 in 53.3 overs.

In reply, Team G lost opener Raghava Pattapu (6), who was trapped leg before by A Prithvi Reddy, with 31 on the board but G Rithish Reddy and Hrishikesh Simha added 74 off 115 balls for the second wicket with both batters scoring an equal 37 in the partnership.

Rithish Reddy was caught by Aman Rao off Akula Sai Chandra after making a composed 62 off 102 balls with 11 fours.

Hrishikesh involved in a few partnerships

Thereafter, Hrishikesh was involved in quite a few handful partnership which propped up the team score.

Hrishikesh added 52 off 51 balls for the third wicket with Bhavesh Seth (22) and then added 40 off 33 balls with Ali Kachchhi (23) for the fourth wicket.

Mickil Jaiswal set up Team H’s 10-wicket victory over Team E with a superb century. He scored 114 off 151 balls with 11 fours and four sixes 

The right-handed batter then forged a 78-run partnership for the fifth wicket with T Ravi Teja. This is the highest partnership in the innings thus far. Ravi Teja fell to Chirag Yadav after making 41 off 66 balls with 4 fours and two sixes.

Hrishikesh, in the meantime, went on to notch up a century before he was caught by Alankrith Rapole off Aryan Cariappa after scoring 133 off 165 balls with 20 fours and two sixes.

Advaith takes five to bowl out Team A for 92; Saqlain grabs another five-wicket haul

Divesh Singh and Mohd Abdul Adnan (21) then added 52 for the seventh wicket as Team G crossed the 350-run mark. Divesh was batting on 42 and giving him company was Saqlain Arafat on 8 as Team G reached 365 for seven.

Mickil to the fore

At the LFC cricket ground, Mickil Jaiswal set up Team H’s 10-wicket victory over Team E with a superb century.

Replying to Team E’s 167, Team H went on to make 314 with Mickil doing the bulk of the scoring with a 151-ball 114. His knock contained 11 fours and four sixes. Mickil and Chandan Sahani (46) were involved in a 110-run partnership for the fourth wicket which set the tone for the big score.

In their second innings, Team E were bundled out for 151 with Khush Agarwal taking four wickets for one run.

Team D scored a commanding innings and 114-run win over Team B at the ECIL cricket ground.

After bowling out Team B for 92, Team D went on to score 364. Team B failed to make it count in the second innings too as they were bowled out for 158 with Shashank Mehrotra taking five for 55.

In another match, Patkuri Nitish Reddy and Sabavet Loknath Naik strung a 156-run partnership to keep Team A in the hunt for the lead against Team C.

Resuming at their overnight score of 223 for seven, Team C added 73 more invaluable runs to the total. Yash Satwalekar scored a patient 71 off 176 balls with five boundaries and a six, while Bhagat Varma got 36 off 72 balls with four fours and a six. They added 78 for the eight wicket.

In reply, Team A lost three wickets with just 15 on the board. A Vignesh Reddy (0), Aashlesh Vaman (4), VVS Sarvajit (7) returned to the pavilion without much ado as M Pratyush Kumar bagged two of the three wickets to fall.

However, skipper Nitish Reddy and Lokanth Naik salvaged the situation with a superb partnership. Nitish made 74 off 140 balls with five fours and six, while Loknath Naik was unlucky to fall on 91. His knock contained 12 fours and four sixes.

Sunkari Dheeraj was batting on 50 off 78 balls with two fours and two sixes as Team A still trail by 42 runs with three wickets in hand.

Team E 167 in 37.1 overs & 151 in 37.3 overs (P Arvind 46, Ajay Dev Goud 33, Khush Agarwal 4/1) lost to Team H 314 in 68.3 overs (Mickil Jaiswal 114, A Avanish Rao 53, Chandan Sahani 46, Ruthik Yadav M 5/104) & 4/0 in 0.1 overs.

C Srinath Yadav struck a century to set up Team A’s eight-wicket win over Team C in the Under-23 Emerging Tournament.

Replying to Team C’s 220, Team A went on to make 299 with Srinath Yadav getting 158 of those off 206 balls with 22 fours and three sixes.

Arjun Choudhary took seven for 70 to restrict the Team A score.

However, Team C were bundled out for 122 in their second innings and Team A reached 46 for two to finish the game.
