Advaith takes five to bowl out Team A for 92; Saqlain grabs another five-wicket haul

C Advaith Reddy’s five-wicket haul put Team D on top in their HCA Senior Men’s Super League in Hyderabad on Tuesday.

At stumps on the first day, Team D were 173 for five with an effective lead of 81 runs with five wickets still in hand and Ganesh Gadugu batting on 36.

Batting first, Team B were shot out for a lowly 92 with Advaith Reddy running amok. He struck lethal blows and never really let Team B recover. He finished with figures of five for 25 and Rakhshann Readdi took three for 27. Harshit Chowdhary was the lone batter who put up a fight with 30.

In reply, Team D batters got off to good starts but none of them built on it. Shaunak Kulkarni took three for 40 for Team B.

In another match, Saqlain Arafat took yet another five-wicket haul to restrict Team F to a modest score. Team F, batting first, reached 224 for nine at stumps with Aman Rao batting on 79.

Saqlain Arafat, who had taken eight wickets in the previous match, including a five-wicket haul, was again in his elements.

Rohan takes five, sets up Hyd win

Hyderabad scored a narrow two-wicket win over Bengal in the latter’s Under-19 team tour to Hyderabad.

Batting first, Bengal were shot out for a lowly 128 with Rohan Boppana bagging five for 28. In reply, Hyderabad huffed and puffed their way to 129 for eight with Arhaan Satwalkar scoring an unbeaten 47. Dhanvin Nimavat took four for 19 for the visitors.

P Charan Tej hit an unbeaten century to take Team D to a two-wicket win over Team E in the Under-19 One-day Super League.

Batting first, Team E were restricted to 261 despite Rithvik Goud scoring 93. Ayush Malhotra bagged four for 56.

In reply, Team D made 263 for eight with P Charan Tej scoring 100 off 94 balls with 11 fours and a six. Nakka Ritesh took four for 67 for the losers.

S Guru Vidhwan hit an unbeaten century to power Team A to a five-wicket victory over Team C.

Team C, batting first, made a modest 258 for nine with Sanyasi Shiven (54) and Akanksh Sitharaman (53) scoring half-centuries. In reply, Team A made 259 for five with Guru Vidhwan scoring 104 off 132 balls with 12 fours.

Palli Prince scored 91 but Team B lost to Team F by six wickets.

Hrishikesh Singh took five wickets to set up Adams XI’s three-wicket win over Shalimar CC in the C Division (one-day) League Championship.

Batting first, Shalimar CC were bowled out for a lowly 131 with Hrishikesh Singh claiming five for 31. In reply, Adams XI too struggled but managed to reach 134 for seven with R Shanmukh scoring 61.
