Govt College of PE (Domalguda) teams triumph; Santosh, Mallika win individual titles

Govt College of Physical Education (Domalguda) won the team championship in the men as well as women categories at the Osmania University 10km Inter-College Cross Country races at the Osmania University Synthetics Athletics Track on Saturday.

Govt College of Physical Education logged in 76 points in the men’s category to take home the title. Govt Degree College (Medak) finished second with 78 points, while Nizam College took the third place with 90 points.

In the individual 10km race, D Santosh Kumar of Govt Degree College, Hayathnagar, came in first. He was followed by N Shekher of Govt Degree College, Medak, and N Dhoni of Govt Degree College, Hayathnagar.

In the women’s category, Govt College of Physical Education had 20 points as they marched to victory. TGSWRE of Mahendra Hills finished second with 40 points, while MJPT (Hyderabad) ended up third with 60 points.

In the individual 10km race, Mallika of Govt College of Physical Education, Domalguda, stood first. Her collegemate B Anitha came in second, while Gayatri of Govt City College finished third.

Results: Men’s 10km: 1. D Santosh Kumar (GDC, Hayathnagar) 30.28.9, 2. N Shekher (GDC, Medak) 33:15.3, 3. N Dhoni (GDC, Hayathnagar) 33:24.9.

Team championship: 1. Govt College of PE, Domalguda (76 points), 2. Govt Degree College, Medak (78 points), 3. Nizam College (90 points).

Women’s 10km: 1. Mallika (GCPE) 38:31.4, 2. B Anitha (GCPE) 41:47.8, 3. Gayatri (Govt City) 42:36.8.

Team championship: 1. Govt College of PE, Domalguda (20 points), 2. TGSWRE, Mahendra Hills (40 points), 3. MJPT, Hyderabad (60 points).
