Charminar exact revenge by downing Imperial; Rishiket, Chandan & Jashwanth slam centuries

It was sweet revenge for Charminar Cricket Club as they pulled off a 70-run win over Imperial Cricket Club in the first round of the HCA A Division T20 League-cum-knock-out Tournament 2026-27 on Tuesday.

Charminar had lost to Imperial by one-wicket in the final of the HCA’s B Division (2-day) League Championship final in March this year.

On Tuesday, the tables were turned as Imperial were at the receiving end. Batting first, Charminar ran up 245 for seven in their allotted 20 overs with Satwik Reddy hammering 92 and Karan Yadav scoring 61. Nomaan Ahmed chipped in with an unbeaten 41 to ensure that Charminar had a handy score on the board.

In reply, Imperial batters failed to last their quota of overs as they finished with 175 in 16.2 overs. M Siddu Nayak topscored with 45. Syed Ghazi Abbas took four for 31 and Urvesh Kakkad claimed three for 34 to crown a good beginning for Charminar in the new season.

Rishiket Sisodia struck a century to power Deccan Wanderers to a thumping nine-wicket win over Balaaji in what turned out to be quite a one-sided affair.

Balaaji, batting first, made 185 for seven with B Nishanth Reddy scoring 54. In reply, Deccan Wanderers made 189 for one in just 13.5 overs. Rishiket scored a 40-ball 101 with four fours and 11 sixes and Harshit Choudhary made 69.

In another match, Mote Jashwanth slammed an unbeaten century to power Central Excise to an eight-wicket victory over Combined District-2.

Jashwanth struck nine sixes and eight fours in his 50-ball 107 as Central Excise replied with 221 for two in 16.2 overs. C Abhinav Tej scored 86.

Earlier, Combined Districts-2 made a competitive 216 for seven with Mohd Arfaz Ahmed making a top score of 60.

Chandan Sahani struck a century and Aaron George Varghese a half-century to set up Evergreen’s 102-run victory over Combined District-1. Batting first, Evergreen ran up 243 for two in 17 overs with Chandan scoring a 46-ball 110 with six fours and 11 sixes. Aaron contributed a handy 86 to the total.

In reply, Combined District-1 were bowled out for 141 with Saqlain Arafat taking four for 24 and Arjun G claiming three for 34. RL David Kripal Roy topscored for Combined Districts with 40.
