Hockey Chandigarh made a spirited comeback to get past Hockey Maharashtra on day 7 of the 16th Hockey India Sub Junior Men’s National Championship 2026 in Rajgir, Bihar, on Tuesday. In other matches, Hockey Haryana, Hockey Association of Odisha, and Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu Hockey register victories in their respective Division ‘A’ matches.

In the first match of the day, Hockey Chandigarh staged a spirited comeback to defeat Hockey Maharashtra 5-3 in a pulsating Pool A encounter. Maharashtra drew first blood through Pravin Patiyal Pratham (21’), but Chandigarh skipper Sahil Duhan (27’) responded swiftly to restore parity.

Rehan Shafi Khan (32’) put Maharashtra back in front soon after the break, yet Chandigarh showed resilience once again. Goals from Parambir Singh (46’) and Arjandeep Singh (53’) turned the tide in their favour, giving them a crucial one-goal lead.

Maharashtra refused to back down, with Rehan Shafi Khan (56’) scoring his second of the match to level proceedings. However, the momentum swung decisively in Chandigarh’s favour as Parambir Singh (56’) completed his brace moments later, before Afridi (57’) put the result beyond doubt, sealing an emphatic 5-3 victory.

Hockey Haryana down Manipur

The second game of the day saw Hockey Haryana register a comfortable 3-0 win over Hockey Manipur in their Pool C clash. Aditya Kumar (11’) opened the scoring early, converting a penalty corner to give Haryana the advantage.

Building on the momentum, Ashish (16’) doubled the lead soon after, putting Manipur on the back foot. Rohit (42’) then added the third goal in the second half to seal a dominant and well-controlled performance for Hockey Haryana.

Odisha thrash Kerala

In the third game of the day, Hockey Association of Odisha delivered a dominant performance, thrashing Kerala Hockey 8-0 in their Pool D encounter. Deepak Prakash Toppo (13’) opened the scoring, setting the tone early, before Mohan Majhi (18’, 48’) struck twice to lead the charge. Amandeep Dang (38’) and Manesh Naik (41’) added to the tally in quick succession, while Bikash Majhi (45’) further extended the lead. Also, Mithles Kerketta (52’) and Bipul Tirkey (57’) rounded off an emphatic victory, as Odisha maintained complete control throughout the contest.

Odisha vs Kerala

In the fourth and final match of the day, Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu Hockey registered a commanding 6-0 victory over Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu in their Pool B encounter.

Ajay Yadav (17’) opened the scoring to give his side an early advantage, before captain Dhiraj Pal (20’, 54’) led from the front with a well-taken brace. Abhishek Pal (31’, 60’) also struck twice to further strengthen their dominance, while Pawan Yadav (47’) added his name to the scoresheet. With a clinical attacking display and a solid defensive performance, Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu Hockey sealed a comprehensive and well-deserved win.
