Chaitanya century goes in vain as Balaaji carve out a two-wicket win over Central Excise

Y Chaitanya Krishna’s century went in vain as Central Excise lost to Balaaji by two wickets in the HCA A Division T20 League-cum-knock-out tournament in Hyderabad on Tuesday.

Batting first, Central Excise ran up a mammoth 245 for six with Chaitanya Krishna getting a 48-ball 104 with nine fours and nine sixes. He was ably supported by M Jashwanth who made 89.

However, Balaaji batters were well up to the task as they replied with 249 for eight. Paras Raj made 59 and Hrishikesh Simha got 55 while Shubham Sharma lent the finishing touches with an unbeaten 38. P Saaketh took three for 35 for Central Excise.

Hyderabad  Bottling edge Deccan Chronicle in Super Over

In another match, Hyderabad Bottling edged Deccan Chronicle in the Super Over after both teams were tied. In the Super Over, Hyderabad Bottling made 16 for two in their one over and then restricted Deccan Chronicle to eight without loss.

Earlier, Deccan Chronicle made 205 for six with M Pratyush Kumar scoring 45 and CV Milind making an unbeaten 43. A Vidyananda Reddy took three for 35.

In reply, Hyderabad Bottling too made 205 but lost seven wickets. K Himateja topscored with 74 and Pranav Suryadevara made 67. CV Milind took three wickets for 36 for Deccan Chronicle.

Half-centuries from A Jai Ram Kashyap, Yash Gupta and Alankrit Agarwal helped Budding Stars score a 58-run win over Gemini Friends.

Batting first, Budding Stars ran up 227 for four with Kashyap scoring 75, Yash 52 and Alankrit getting an unbeaten 52.

In reply, Gemini Friends were restricted to 169 for nine in 20 overs with C Aaditya Reddy taking three for 43.

Ambadi Jayasuriya scored a half-century, but it was not enough as Imperial went down to Evergreen by 36 runs. Evergreen made 200 for six with Ishan Sharma scoring 67, while Sai Vikas Reddy got 45 and Chandan Sahani 43. Ashwad Rajiv took three for 42 for Imperial. In reply, Jayasuriya made 74 but Imperial were restricted to 164 for eight.

Sai Purnanad Rao and Abhirath Reddy hit half-centuries to set up Jai Hanuman’s 26-run win over Charminar. Sai made 75 and Abhirath got 54 as Jai Hanuman scored 214 for five. In reply, Charminar were restricted 188 for six.
