BCCI bans Hyderabad cricketer Ram Charan Markatta for two years

Ram Charan Markatta, a registered cricketer, has been banned by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) from participating in any cricketing activities conducted under the aegis of the BCCI or any of its affiliated State Associations.

The Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) on Monday hereby issued a press release in which it stated that the ban is effective for a period of two (2) years, concluding on 28 December 2027, as communicated by the BCCI to all concerned stakeholders. “HCA clarifies that, in accordance with BCCI regulations, upon completion of the ban period, the player shall be eligible to participate only in Senior Cricket, subject to fulfillment of all applicable rules, regulations, and eligibility criteria prescribed by the BCCI at that time,” the release said.

“The Hyderabad Cricket Association is bound to implement and comply with all directives, disciplinary actions, and regulations issued by the BCCI in the interest of maintaining the integrity, discipline, and governance standards of the game,” the release added.

It also said, “this press release is issued purely in compliance with official communication received and does not warrant any further interpretation.”
