Jyothi Surekha Vennam and Deepika Kumari will spearhead India’s charge at the Archery World Cup 2026 Stage 1, which gets underway in Puebla, Mexico.
World No. 3 and Asian Games gold medallist Jyothi Surekha Vennam will spearhead the women’s compound unit alongside former world champion Aditi Swami, who returns to the squad after missing out on the Madrid stage last season.

Vijayawada girl Surekha enjoyed a standout 2025 Archery World Cup campaign, securing mixed team gold and bronze with Rishabh Yadav. The compound mixed team event will make its Olympic debut at Los Angeles 2028.
Surekha also claimed two women’s team silvers and an individual silver in Shanghai and scripted history with an individual bronze at the World Cup Final in Nanjing – the first by an Indian compound woman at the event.
India have named a 16-member archery squad, headlined by former world No.1 Deepika Kumari, who will be targeting another podium finish to add to her impressive tally of 38 World Cup medals.

Among other notable names, Olympians Atanu Das and Tarundeep Rai feature in the recurve squad. Asian Games silver medallist Abhishek Verma, former world champion Ojas Deotale and 2025 Shanghai World Cup gold medallist Madhura Dhamangaonkar bolster the compound squad.
The Indian team for the first two stages of the Archery World Cup 2026 was selected following the national trials in Kolkata in February.
Over 200 archers from 32 countries will be seen in action during the season-opening leg of the four-stage Archery World Cup circuit from April 7 to 12. The qualification spots for the World Cup Final in Saltillo at stake.
